Qualifications

Founded in 1996, POTOMAC ARCHITECTURAL MILLWORK Corp. (PAMC) is a custom Millwork Subcontractor, based in Woodbridge, Virginia with certification in SWAM, LDBE, AWI and MFD.

As a Custom Architectural Millwork shop, we are capable of fabricating Stain Grade (solid woods and veneers), Paint Grade, Plastic Laminates and Solid Surface items.

The description of our finished products and services are usually found within the 6400 Division of the Project Specifications Manuals.

As active Members of the Architectural Woodwork Institute, we are certified for Premium grade and comply with the AWI’s Quality Standards Manual for fabrication and installation procedures.

Our target customers are the US Government and established medium to large General Contractors. We cover Institutional, Govemmental, commercial and Residential jobs.

Production Capacity / Bonding Capacity

Our production facility has been updated with new equipment. We have completed the installation of all new Panel Saw, Table Saw, Computerized CNC Router, Edgebander, Shaper and Case Clamp. Along with our State-Of-The-Art software, the installation of this high tech equipment has doubled our productivity and increased our quality.

With continued investment in our materials, equipment and craftspeople, PAMC has been able to generate revenues that have sustained and average growth rate of 30% per year. Our Payment and Performance bonding capacity is $2.5 – $3 Mil for single jobs and $5 Mil for total program.

We are keeping up with the speed at which technology is changing the construction industry nowadays. Downloading architectural drawings and specifications right from an internet website and likewise, uploading or e-mailing shop drawings, RFIs, Change Orders and/or letters back to our customers, have already become part of our everyday tasks.

Dianne Wetmore, Senior Estimator Bachelor in Architecture, with 20 years of experience as an Estimator

Terry Brooks, Project Manager Bachelor in Construction Management, with 8 years experience as a Project Manager

Mirtha Curaca, Project Manager Bachelor in Architecture, with 12 years experience as Project Manager.

Armando Mori, logistics/Purchasing Bachelor in Accounting, with 6 years experience in purchasing and logistics.

Charles Stanton, Project Manager, with 42 years of experience in Architectural Millwork manufacturing, engineering, management, past President and Director of AWI, AWI certified QCP, estimating and project management.

Nelly Mori-Giammerino, Project Manager, Estimator/Detailer/CNC Programmer, Vice-President Bachelor in Architecture, AWI’s certified Estimator with 20 years experience in millwork detailing, Project Management, estimating.

Carolina Vargas, Estimator. Bachelor in Architecture, with 19 years of experience as an Estimator

Job Opportunities

Cost Estimator

Job Duties:

Responsible for preparing cost estimates in connection with our custom design and manufacturing of millwork products for commercial and residential properties.

Visit project sites to gather information and coordinate with General Contractors, Architects, Production Engineer, and clients.

Use knowledge of architectural principles to review incoming projects blueprints, conceptual drawings and specifications, and coordinate with the Architects to interpret the intended design for the project.

Use knowledge of architectural design in order to provide a price for the General Contractor when drawings lack of details, and cost for the job is needed. Suggest materials and installation procedures.

Based on analysis of project specifications, determine quantity of materials, labor, equipment, and man power needed to furnish and install the millwork projects, including allowances for weather delays, materials shortages, etc.

For novel or unique projects, coordinate with the Production Engineer to make an analysis of the production process, material costs, labor required prior to calculating estimate.

As each job progresses, keep track of actual costs and schedule of the project, and maintain updated comparison with estimated costs to ensure job profitability.

Recommend ways to reduce costs.

Maintain historical data on estimated vs actual costs for comparison and estimation of projected costs on upcoming projects.

Develop and maintain materials cost sheet for most commonly-used materials.

Identify and retain suppliers when project requires specialty materials.

Maintain detailed project schedules and expense/revenue data to recommend to company President the most profitable upcoming projects and best bid amount.

Give professional feedback on how to properly build millwork components to the architects and clients.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, engineering, construction management or related.

3 YEARS experience in Estimating in Millwork.

2 YEARS experience in Autocad Drafting.
